CLAIRE AND STUART’S WEDDING APRIL 2012
LOCATION: PARK HYATT SAIGON
Our client base comes from all over the world and many of the couples we photograph come from different backgrounds and different traditions. Sometimes it’s their first wedding location. Often they’ve already done a wedding in another country and they are coming back to Vietnam for their second wedding ceremony.
For Claire and Stuart they were coming to Vietnam because Claire’s family is Vietnamese. The wedding was set to be a traditional Vietnamese ceremony. Stuart’s family traveled a long way to Vietnam for the occasion. It’s always so interesting to watch people experience a Vietnamese wedding for the first time. The confetti, the performance, the champagne fountain, etc. all make for a colorful ceremony.
The wedding was to take place at the Park Hyatt Hotel in HCMC. A lovely venue for a wedding but the bad part was the whole wedding would take place indoors. I love natural light so this was going to be challenge
The couple agreed to do a short portrait session the day before around the city. This way we would get some Vietnam ambience and that all-important natural light.
It was a long day documenting the young couple from the tea ceremony to a famous flutist putting on quite a performance late in the evening.
The blend of the day before portrait session with the colorful day of ceremony made for a beautiful wedding. A huge congratulations to Claire and Stuart, thank you for letting Mott Visuals document your special day and your two families and friends celebrating your future together.
